Liquorice is native to Southern Europe, North Africa and temperate regions of Asia. Its leaves are compound and consist of 4 to 7 pairs of leaves plus an end leaflet. The leaves of this plant are sticky due to the secretion of sap. The flowers of this plant are blue and its fruit has 5 to 6 brown seeds. The root and underground stem of liquorice have medicinal uses. This plant is a perennial plant. The length of its leaves is from 7 to 15 cm and includes 9 to 17 leaflets.
